Pastor Schwanke grew up in the beautiful New England state of New Hampshire. At a young age put his trust in Jesus as Savior and surrendered to full-time ministry at 16. After completing his B.S. degree in Business from Pensacola Christian College, he went on to pursue his M-Div. He met his wife, Liz on a church planting missions trip in 2005. It was during that trip that the he believed God was leading him to plant a church. Pastor Barney and Liz love serving in Loudoun County at Faithway Baptist Church, a wonderful congregation which the Lord led them to establish together over 10 years ago. Faithway is a growing and thriving church which continues to see the blessings of the Lord. They have one son and one daughter.
Andrew Baker – Youth Leader
Andrew spent his entire childhood in good churches, and since he was twelve, Faithway. He believed the Gospel and prioritized church even in the turbulent years of high school, but his relationship with Christ suffered as he spent nearly a decade in subtle but deep spiritual wanderings. As he approached the completion of his Pastoral Studies degree at Ambassador Baptist College, he finally broke. In the few years since, God has brought wonderful healing and purpose. Perhaps the sweetest gift that Andrew received was his wife Chelsea, who he met completing a Pastoral Internship in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Their conviction that people are the most important thing in the world drives their desire to make Christ known to the people of Northern Virginia.
