Pastor Jonathan Redford
Pastor Jonathan Redford grew up in a single parent home in Western Kentucky. Despite the 40 minute drive, his mother was faithful to make sure that all five of her kids were in church anytime that the doors were open. As a direct result of this he heard the gospel many times but did not make a decision to come to Christ until he was 12 years old in a Christian school chapel service.
When Jonathan was fifteen years old, his mother remarried and the family moved to Groves, TX. It was while living in Texas that they began attending Val Verde Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Brent Stancil. Dr. Stancil took a personal interest in Jonathan and began to encourage him to involve himself in ministry.
Jonathan began working on a bus route, teaching childrens classes, served in the music ministry, food bank, and preaching in the local rest homes. When Jonathan was 16 years old he attended Southland Christian Camp in Louisiana where he heard Dr. John Goetsch preach. After the week of passionate preaching Jonathan surrendered to preach.
He graduated from High School in 2005 and attended Heartland Baptist College in Oklahoma City, OK and West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA. While at WCBC he had the opportunity to travel with Dr. Toby Weaver and the men’s quartet Sound Doctrine for 3 tours.
In June of 2010, Jonathan spoke with Pastor Schwanke about coming to work at Faithway Baptist Church. After seeing the Lord’s hand move in several decisive ways, Jonathan moved from California to D.C. and began to serve at Faithway in September of 2010.
Pastor Jonathan currently leads the Youth, College and Career and Music Ministry at the church and is passionately desirous to see youth accept Christ and grow to have a personal walk with Him.
